Here are some of the activities that the VHC Medical Brigade has worked on:
- Annual shipments of 40-foot ocean containers of humanitarian healthcare medicine, equipment, and supplies (2009 included),
- Brigade trained, supervised, and supplied Community Health Workers (6) and clinics in two remote villages,
- Local Water Board capacitation for the supervision of public health, potable water, and sanitation infrastructure initiatives in 9 remote mountain villages – increased from 2 villages last year,
- “Wish List” acquisition and other support for 2 Comayagua community hospitals, Regional Hospital Santa Teresa and Centro Medico San Benito Jose – increased from 1 hospital last year,
- CasAyuda School for disabled and hearing impaired children, through which we provide the only audiology services in the region,
- Comayagua Rehabilitation Center support, the only PT facility in the area,
- Valle Bonito Orphanage – ongoing support,
- Comayagua Lions Club – medicines and supplies support for the 4 medical/dental brigades the Lions hold annually.
