WHO WE ARE

OUR VISION

Our vision is to create a healthier Honduras where underserved communities get the healthcare they need and deserve.

OUR MISSION

We empower Hondurans to bring health and sustainable development to the most vulnerable.

EMPOWERING HEALTHY FAMILIES AND COMMUNITIES

At VHC Medical Brigade, we're driven by a vision of creating a healthier Honduras. We achieve this by partnering with local organizations and empowering communities to develop sustainable solutions. Established in 1999 after Hurricane Mitch, we've cultivated strong relationships and worked to expand local initiatives. Our priority remains serving the most vulnerable for lasting impact. With a focus on preventative health education and clinical support in rural areas, we've served the Comayagua region for over 20 years. Our efforts strive for sustainable change, addressing local health needs, and empowering communities.

OUR PROGRAMS

OUR HISTORY

For over 20 years, the Brigade has been dedicated to serving Honduras' most vulnerable and underserved communities. Our organization was established in 1999 in response to the devastation caused by Hurricane Mitch, and we quickly became a vital source of aid relief for those in need.

Over time, we realized that sustainable development work was essential to creating lasting change, so we shifted our focus from short-term aid relief to long-term development projects. Today, we continue to work closely with Honduran staff, volunteers, and community leaders to improve access to healthcare, clean water, and education.

At the Brigade, strongly emphasize sustainability and local ownership. We believe that by collaborating with Honduran communities and international partners, we can create programs that are effective, efficient, and sustainable. Our history is a testament to our commitment to making a difference in Honduras. We are proud to have partnered with these communities for more than two decades, and we look forward to continuing our work for many years to come.

WHERE WE WORK

The VHC Medical Brigade works in the remote mountain rural region of Comayagua La Paz in Honduras. This area is known for its rugged terrain and limited access to basic healthcare services, making it a challenging but rewarding place for the Brigade to carry out its mission. With a focus on sustainable community development and health interventions, the Brigade works directly with rural residents to improve their quality of life and strengthen the public healthcare system in this region.
