The VHC Medical Brigade’s volunteer Board of Directors has recruited new talent! We are thrilled to welcome Joanne Duncan as our seventh Board Member as of June, 2023. Joanne brings an extensive non-profit management background to the Brigade including experience in strategic planning and implementation, financial and resource alignment, effective operational management, and a collaborative approach to accomplishing the organization’s goals. Joanne most recently served as chief operating officer at the Association for Accessible Medicines (AAM). Before that, Joanne served as President, Membership and Business Operations Division at the Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO, as SVP and CFO of the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) and as the Senior Vice President, Strategic Business Development at America’s Health Insurance Plans (AHIP). Joanne earned her bachelor’s degree from Randolph-Macon College and a master’s in taxation from George Mason University. She is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA, non-practicing) and a Certified Association Executive (CAE). Joanne enjoys hiking, spending time with family and meeting new people. She and her husband are long-term residents of northern Virginia.
